Credit Card Debt Forgiveness Can Be Your First Steps To Solid Economic Ground
Posted by admin as Negotiation, credit cards
Most Americans use credit cards as a convenience or an occasional means to make life a little easier to pay for that unexpected purchase. Then, as good, responsible people, they pay that debt as quickly as possible. This is true for the mast majority of consumers that use credit in our country.
However, there are a few who have seen credit cards become part of an unstable dependence. For whatever the reason, they get in trouble economically due to undisciplined spending or wishful thinking. This is a problem for a minority of consumers and they need help basically with their lack of knowledge of basic credit economics. Yet, there are some who are absolutely irresponsible and that is utterly inexcusable. There is no excuse for irresponsibility.
The need, though, is not about irresponsibility, but about those who have gotten trapped while using their credit cards not for avoiding responsibilities, but while trying to meet their responsibilities. There is an answer for you who have found yourselves unable to get back to solid economic ground.
Credit card debt forgiveness is not a dream. There is a way without the use of bankruptcy or settlement negotiation. There are some companies that provide those services, but you must have met the specific requirements laid forth by those companies.
A debt is a promise to pay. Not only are we bound by our word, but through the credit card contract there is documentation that demands payment. Yes, in recent years there has been what is tantamount to the principle of ‘price-gouging’ a credit card ‘fee-gouging’ by credit card companies and banks. The Government is dealing with that through the recently passed law called The Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility, and Disclosure Act. However, those of us who are in trouble with our credit card debt have a responsibility to honor our word.
Some immediate changes in your purchasing behavior must be made. These include:
- Make no more purchases with credit cards.
- If possible, paying off your least debts first.
- Consolidate credit card bills through taking out a loan with a fixed rate and simply pay off your cards. Then destroy your cards.
- Only purchase necessities – not wants. Don’t justify purchases. Let the need make the demand.
- Fix your credit by dealing with your creditors realistically. Communicate with them as to your ability to pay or not pay. They will work with you, for the most part, to work out a payment schedule and will appreciate your honesty with them.
By changing the way you purchase goods and by not utilizing credit during the interim of repairing your credit, you may experience the satisfaction that comes from putting your feet on solid economic ground. The real answer to credit card debt forgiveness is not a government bailout. Credit card debt forgiveness only comes through paying the bill in a managed, controlled manner.
